“Well-behaved women seldom make history.” Laurel Thatcher Ulrich.
This is often quoted as “Well-behaved women rarely make history” and attributed to Eleanor Roosevelt. But those aren’t quite right. Thatcher Ulrich originally wrote it in an article in 1976 and the reaction to it inspired her to write a book of the same title.
“She overcame everything that was meant to destroy her.” Rumi. Whew, I feel that one.
“You are a goddamn cheetah.” Glennon Doyle. This is one of the most memorable and powerful quotes from the book Untamed.

“Here’s to strong women: may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them, may we elect them.” I added the “may we elect them” verse to this popular quote after the Democratic primary season when I was frustrated so many qualified women just weren’t getting votes.
